Amazon Event 2020: Everything Is For You

|Follow US: Google News

These were the most expensive items advertised at the Amazon event, but there was much more to excite, with everything from flying security camera drones to echo Dot smart speakers with fun animal prints. There was also more below the surface – Alexa will be better able to follow our conversations using acoustic, linguistic, and even visual cues. Overall, the variety of new products announced was quite surprising – last year’s event was largely focused on smart speakers, home appliances, and portable devices with integrated Alexa, while the 2020 occasion saw Amazon’s items and administrations expand significantly more – particularly with the declaration of Amazon Luna.

There was also less attention to making every device in your home a smart home device (remember the Amazon smart oven of 2019?), and more emphasis on improving Alexa’s operation in products than most of us already have in our homes – our smart speakers, TV broadcast devices and smart screens.

The Event on Amazon Hardware was scheduled just a few weeks before we waited for Amazon Prime Day 2020 to land in mid-October. This means that many of the company’s older products could benefit from significant discounts at the sales event, now that there are new devices to replace them.

Below, we’ll take a closer look at all the products announced at the Amazon 2020 event.

The brand-new games streaming service – Amazon Luna

He’s become a new competitor to the streaming games world – and his name is Amazon Luna.

This new service takes streaming-built names like Google Stadia (What is Google Stadia) and Nvidia GeForce Now, allowing you to play games directly from instances without having to download them.

Currently, the service is only available through early access for U.S. players, but is expected to be released worldwide when the time comes. To play games on the service, you can now buy the Amazon Luna controller – costing $49.99 (about $40/$70) and connecting directly to instances to improve latency (although Xbox and PlayStation controllers also work).

Get a Makeover with Amazon Speakers

Amazon has released a series of new Echo speakers with extraordinary global designs that separate them from most smart speakers you can buy in 2020.

New smart football-Esque speakers include the new Echo, the new Echo Dot, the new Echo Dot watch, and the new Echo Dot Kids Edition – all more like mini basketball than Alexa speakers.

As Amazon tries to fit into the heart of everything you control through automation or with your voice, they have the intelligence to make it a true center for the smart home.

Alexa has a number of new features that come first in the US, including an enhanced and more natural sound.

The Echo Show 10 comes with Netflix

The Amazon 2020 event was seen in a brand new version of its flagship smart screen; The all-new Echo Show 10, which features new features like “smart motion” and allows you to watch your favorite Netflix shows as well as a number of other video platforms.

The new Echo Show 10 can return to you even as you walk around the room – and if you cook and walk around your kitchen, for example, the recipe you follow on your smart screen means you can always keep an eye on it.

A new Fire Stick With a UI Overhaul

A pair of new Amazon Fire TV Sticks are on the way – and compact devices can make major changes to Fire TV users as well as impressive improvements to the existing Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Fire TV Stick Lite will be a big winner at a low price and will have a new user interface upgrade to make the rotation of your streaming world a little smoother.

Amazon Fire TV‘s user interface is also getting big improvements, making it easier and more fun than before. These upgrades include profiles, display mode, and new Alexa features for each member of your family.

A Ring Camera can fly around to your home

Amazon’s love affair with drones has apparently been passed on to its home security company Ring: the new Always Home Cam is a self-contained indoor drone that flies around your home and gives you a live mobile power supply to your home if it detects an intruder or emergency. .

The drone will sell for $249 (about 200 euros / AU$350, although we do not yet have international price or availability) and will be launched in 2021.

It cannot be piloted manually; however, you can create pre-defined monitoring paths from room to room, so you can choose which rooms in your home are kept.

Protect your Car with Ring

In other Ring news, Amazon has revealed a trio of new auto-focus devices under the Ring Home Safety Brand, designed to protect your vehicle.

These are the Ring Car Cam, Ring Car Alarm and Ring Car Connect. Prices range from $59.99 to $199.99 and all three will be available sometime in 2021 – but exact release dates and international prices have not yet been revealed.

An interesting feature is the ability to say ”Alexa, I’m arrested” and it will automatically record what happens next, to bring peace of mind to those who worry about unnecessary police checks.

Affordable Security Cameras

Not interested in a flying security plane? Amazon Blink security cameras are affordable recorders that offer exclusive versions of popular Ring devices at lower prices, and the company has announced two more products in its range.

The new products, Blink Indoor and Blink Outdoor, make a few improvements to the brand’s older products and even offer some key features of Ring smart bells.

New Amazon Eero Supports Wifi 6

The Amazon 2020 hardware event saw two new wi-Fi network routers that support the latest version of Wi-Fi 6: Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 can provide Wi-Fi coverage for more than 75 devices at the same time.

Each router includes a built-in Zigbee smart home hub; this means that it can connect your smart home devices to your home Wi-Fi network without the need for a separate Zigbee hub.

The Best Wi-Fi Router For 2020

Both devices are backwardcompliant with previous Eero generations, so you can expand your network with minimal difficulty.

The Eero Pro 6 is designed for homes with Gigabit Internet connections and can take up to 2,000 square feet of space – and the more you add, the wider the space. This will cost you $229 for one person, $399 for two packs and $599 for three packs – although international prices will be confirmed, this is about 180 euros/AU$320 for one person, AU$315 for two and AU$560 for three and 470 Australian Dollars/850 Australian Dollars for three people.

The Eero 6, meanwhile, is more suitable for homes with Internet connections of up to 500 Mbps and can take up to 1,500 square feet of space. Prices start at $129, available in two and three packages – that’s about £100/AU$180.
