While the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is the best phone you can buy today, the smaller (and slightly less capable) Galaxy S20 is so similar that we’ve doubled it.
Why it’s the best phone: a value-for-money phone that allows Samsung to win over Apple. The S20 Plus starts at $1,199 and the S20 starts at $999. Yes, it’s a price increase from last year (and now matches what you’ll pay for Pro-level iPhones), but bigger screens, more internal storage, a microSD card slot for expandable storage, and Samsung’s closest rival, 5G.

Release date: March 2020 | Weight: 186g | Dimensions: 166.9 x 76 x 8.8mm | Operating System: Android 10 | Screen size: 6.7 inches | Resolution: 3200 × 1440 | Processor: Snapdragon 865 | RAM: 12 GB | Storage: 128 / 512GB (up to 1 TB by card) | Battery: 4,500mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 64MP + 12MP | Front camera: 10MP
Display: Infinity-O AMOLED displays on both phones – 6.2 inches for S20, 6.7 inches for S20 Plus – are spectacular. The two scores are concentrated like Note 10, however this time they’re a lot littler, and the S20 Plus has just a single focal point. Result: more screens. Also new this year is the 120Hz maximum refresh rate for silky smooth media and gaming, but you’ll notice this mostly when navigating – and you’ll need to reduce your screen resolution to FHD+ to enjoy it.
Battery Life: The S20 includes a 4,000mAh battery, while the S20 Plus has a capacity of 4,500mAh. I mean, it’s light, it’s too often, and it spends more than a day charging us. If you set the refresh rate to 120 Hz, use juice with a ton of 5G connectivity or Wireless Power Sharing, note that the battery life forecast will drop; therefore, if you want your phone to run longer, adapt it accordingly.
Camera: The S20 and S20 Plus have really great cameras. No, 12 MP is not the main shooters, that’s a good thing – a really glittering 64 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom (more than normal 2x zoom). The camera can also adjust the zoom to a muddy 30x digital zoom – which means the ranges are far more impressive than their competitors. The 12 MP ultra-wide performs well enough, while the 10 MP front camera works great with fun filters. Another first-time bonus: 8K 24 fps video from the rear camera.
